The �鶹��Environmental Education Center is a 500-acre academic facility located in Seagoville, TX. The center includes more than four miles of nature trails, a 26,000-sq. ft. facility with interactive exhibits, a 70-seat ecology theater, four science laboratories, a live animals laboratory, outdoor classroom, fossil pavilion, working barn with a variety of livestock, vegetable, flower, and herb gardens, and a recently added astronomical observatory. The center's instructional programs, led by experienced teachers and naturalists, are fully aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Science and designed to help teachers at all grade levels meet the Texas Education Agency's requirement that students plan and implement both laboratory and field investigations during science instruction.

Mission

The mission of the Environmental Education Center is to help diverse learners develop an awareness, appreciation, and concern for the environment and use 21st-century knowledge and skills to make informed, responsible decisions, solve current environmental problems, and prevent new ones. 

�鶹��schools may schedule FREE field trips using the center's FREE bus beginning at 8:00 am on August 9, 2024.

Please call 972-749-6931, 972-749-6932, or 972-749-6904 to book your trip and keep in mind:

• Only one grade level/subject at each school may book a trip using our free bus. After that, other grade levels from the school may book a free trip, but the school will be responsible for scheduling and paying for transportation.
  

• We allow one field trip reservation per phone call.
  

• We cannot accept field trip reservations via email, Skype, or voicemail.
  

• If the line is busy, please DO NOT leave a voicemail or remain on hold. Hang up and call back until you get through.
  

• Have one or two alternate field trip dates in mind in case your first choice has already been taken.

• After August 9, 2024 please call 972-749-6900 to schedule a field trip.  After August 9, the numbers above will no longer work for field trips.
