Welcome

  • Welcome to Dallas ISD! The Journey Starts Here with New Teacher Academy (NTA) for all Teachers, Librarians/Media Specialists, Speech Therapists, and Speech Assistants new to their roles or new to the district in 2024. 

    Four days are added to your work calendar, including the 3-day 2024 New Teacher Academy and two additional "half-day" professional development sessions.

    WHO ATTENDS NEW TEACHER ACADEMY?*

    The following groups attend the 2024 NTA:
    • Newly hired 2024-2025 school year teachers, librarians/media specialists, speech therapists, and speech assistants who complete their hiring appointment and receive an official start date on or before July 31, 2024.
    • Teachers who started teaching with 鶹in Spring 2024.

    *Some campuses under specialized programs may have alternate concurrent training. Teachers should follow the direction of their school administration team on which events to attend.

    Your Campus

    Teachers with 3+ years of creditable teaching experience in Texas may report to their campus for the afternoon, or other location, as instructed by their school administration team.

    *鶹defines Novice teachers as anyone in their first or second year of teaching in Texas.

Next Steps

  • Step 1

     

    Attend your Hiring Appointment with your Staffing Specialist.  You and your Staffing Specialist must complete all steps of your hiring process to receive your Employee ID Number (EID) and a District email address.

    Commit your EID and email address (EAD) to memory!

    Step 2

     

    Log in to your District email at and click the Outlook icon. Set a daily habit of checking your new work email.

     

    Step 3

     

    Watch for an email from NewTeachers@DallasISD.org. You will need this email to: 1) Register for NTA and 2) Sign up for laptop pickup.

     

    Step 4

     

    Continue checking your email for information and reminders throughout the summer. We'll send plenty of details before and during NTA. 

     

    • You MUST complete your Hiring Appointment and be placed as Hire-Hired by the HCM Staffing team to receive an invitation to NTA.
    • Once placed into Hire-Hired status, new teachers will be urged to register for New Teacher Academy.

    • Mark your calendar with 2024 NTA dates and locations.
    • Make sure 鶹has your updated personal email address. We will email you at the address you used to apply for your position until your official start date. 
    • Add NewTeachers@DallasISD.org to your safe senders list.
    • When you receive emails, check for action items. You need to register for NTA and sign up for laptop pickup.
